As a Maryland Energy Administration Grantee, Building Change Has Completed Hundreds of Sustainable Modifications for Low- and Moderate-Income Residents.

We Provide Home Weatherization Services for Low- and Moderate-Income Maryland Residents

Funded by the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) in partnership with EDGE Energy and other statewide contractors, we are proud to offer Energy and Weatherization Grants to our local Maryland Community for fiscal years 2024 and 2025. If qualified, this grant will utilize funds to make improvements to your home to help reduce monthly utility bills, improve home comfort and home indoor air-quality, and eliminate some health and safety issues.

Typical upgrades include energy audits, insulation, air-sealing, duct-sealing, heating and cooling equipment, and more!

Qualifications

Homeowners must meet income criteria and be willing to provide documentation of income, together with page 1 and page 2 of your most recent Federal Income Tax Return form 1040 or Social Security Benefit Statement, Mobile Home Title (if applicable), Gas (if applicable) and Electric Utility bill.

The following make the home ineligible for this opportunity: False Income Statements or; Aggressive dogs
not being safely handled; Drug use on premises; Threats to auditor; Home found structurally inadequate; Rental
property; and/or any safety or other issues prohibited by grant special conditions.

In addition to the above, the following could (after inspection) also make the home ineligible:
Nub and Tub wiring (means you can’t install attic insulation); Mold problem; water problem such as a hole in
the roof or standing water in the basement; home sealed too tight resulting in the inability of fumes to escape
through natural ventilation; major roof issues; major plumbing issues; or a Gas leak.
Veterans and/or Retired Homeowners will be given preference.
